Erin & Bret | St Peters Lutheran Church Wedding | Columbus, IN

This St Peters Lutheran Church wedding in Columbus, IN was nothing short of spectacular! The church was amazing with its stained glass windows, semi-circular balcony which wrapped down the sides from the second to the first floor. The grand sight of a pipe organ gets me every time! I’d love to sit down and pretend to play one some day. I had a blast assisting Denise Lundy Photography on this one and look forward to many more.

The reception was held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. This was a great place to capture some awesome wedding images. They have some of the neatest little nooks to shoot in with a wedding couple, and Erin and Bret were definitely game! We pulled away briefly during the reception and captured some memorable photographs for the two of them. It’s great to be a part of a team that is knit tightly because our ideas overlap just enough to be consistent yet produce multiple looks quickly.

Check out some the images I took and a little slideshow I put together. I’m also sure you’ll find gorgeous images over on Denise’s site as well!

Aisha & Nick | Valle Vista Country Club Wedding

I had a blast at my bro’s wedding today.  Well, yesterday now.  It’s nice to attend a wedding and have no part in the hired services.  I got to sit back and enjoy the grand celebration, as much as a photographer could anyways.  Of course, I had a camera, but I only had one.  No gear bag, multiple lenses, flashes, or anything else I would normally lug around.  I didn’t even bring my comfy shoes!  And, since the request to share their day on social media was clearly printed on the program, which was a very neatly designed church style fan, here’s my contribution to # HERRINGWEDDING2014 I congratulate the both of you on your beautiful wedding day!  I wish you both the best of the best that life has to offer!  I hope you like this little video I put together.  🙂

For those that don’t know, Nick and I grew up together in the same church, Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.  Our Pastor was the officiant for the HERRINGWEDDING2014, Pastor James Green.  It was nice to see so many church members at the wedding.  We are truly one big family!  I tried my best to stay out of the official photographers way and took most of the shots from my seat.  It feels good to sit down every now and then.  🙂  I normally wouldn’t even post this quickly (i.e. almost the same day) but my phone died during the ceremony so I couldn’t partake in the social media fun, lol.  And, I love my lil bro and new sis!  Lastly, as always, Valle Vista and staff are always on point and orderly! For the techies out there, I used the Nikon D600 + Nikkor 105mm Macro, my ISO stayed around 3200 indoors, 200 outdoors, that’s it.

Emily and Ryan | Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session

A Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session is always a fabulous way to start a Saturday morning.  Emily and Ryan are a fantastic couple that I met through a contact from this year’s Prom Shoot.  I’m so gracious that people I had just met that day thought enough of my skill and talent to pass along my contact information!  You, Mr/Mrs Reader should do the same.  🙂  Anyhow, I totally enjoyed this Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session.  I even surprised the couple with an 8am start time, makeup artist on-site, and no coffee.  Ha!  So, I’ve decided to start offering short video/slideshows to go along with my photography.  Please let me know what you guys think of it.

I’d like to send a huge THANKS to a professional makeup artist who made the sacrifice of an extra hour of sleep to meet us in a parking lot on Butler’s campus!  Prepared to rock, she was the first one on site with brushes in hand, and she still had a host of wedding faces to do that morning as well!  I truly appreciate you, Megan Logsdon!  Please check out her page at www.megan-l.com

If that wasn’t enough, I even had my “Voice Activated Light Stand” on deck for the Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session, Lance Parker!  Such a great guy! He didn’t even hesitate when I asked him to only hold my light stand.  He’s also a great photographer as well. His FB Page is here: Illuminate Hue Photography

Taylor Wedding | Greater Gethsemane MB Church

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-12-12-12-amAlthough I am a great Indianapolis Wedding Photographer, it’s nice to take a break sometimes. I did exactly that this weekend!  I had the opportunity to sit and enjoy my family’s wedding from the back of the church in the sound booth. As an Indianapolis wedding photographer, I find myself constantly moving on my feet for the majority of most wedding days with a focus on the bride and groom. This weekend I got to watch and enjoy from a guests perspective.  It very interesting to see other guests expressions of joy and happiness for the couple, notice different traditional elements, and even watch kids play for longer than two seconds.  I’m so happy for Andre and Heather and congratulate them on their monumental day!  I wish them many years of happiness together as they move forward as one flesh.  Not that they haven’t already seen many years, but let the party continue!   As for this

As for this Indianapolis Wedding Photographer, you know I couldn’t resist taking a few images from my seat, HA!  …and NO I was not in the front row or hanging out in the aisle with my point and shoot, cellphone, or iPad!  That seems to happen a lot lately, but I hope everyone got the shots they were hoping for in the end.  I wonder how many folks will actually post the videos they shot of the unity candle lighting.  Or, will it just fall by the wayside and be lost when that cellphone meets it’s watery grave, lol.  Anyhow, although my pride and joy Nikon D600 and Sigma 70-200mm lens were both in the shop 🙁 I decided to see what I could do with my Nikon D90 and 105mm.  I also used a Sigma 24-70mm for a couple of shots.  Shooting everything in black and white just appealed to me that day,  this is not my normal style, just something a little out of the box for me.  Retouching only consisted of moving a few sliders to bring out some details in the shadows.  Ok, enough commentary.  Show me the images! 🙂
